{"id":12394,"date":"2020-01-21T10:05:00","date_gmt":"2020-01-21T10:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nuevapescanova.com\/?p=12394"},"modified":"2020-01-22T10:07:41","modified_gmt":"2020-01-22T10:07:41","slug":"ponta-matirre-the-first-of-the-new-freezer-vessels-of-the-nueva-pescanova-group-leaves-for-mozambique","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nuevapescanova.com\/en\/2020\/01\/21\/ponta-matirre-the-first-of-the-new-freezer-vessels-of-the-nueva-pescanova-group-leaves-for-mozambique\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cPonta Matirre\u201d, the first of the new freezer vessels of the Nueva Pescanova Group, leaves for Mozambique"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>\u201cPonta Matirre\u201d\nis the second of the seven new vessels that the Nueva Pescanova Group has built\nfor their subsidiaries in Mozambique and Namibia for an aggregated investment\nof 42.5 million euros.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>The name of the\nvessel has been chosen by the very captains of the affiliate, and responds to a\ngeographic al location at the heart of the Sofala bank, the wild shrimp fishing\nground where the Nueva Pescanova Group operates in Mozambique.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Vigo, 21\nJanuary 2020<\/em><\/strong>.- The Nueva Pescanova Group has today bid farewell to the \u201cPonta\nMatirre\u201d vessel in Vigo, the first of the four freezer vessels measuring 32\nmeters in length to be used for prawn fishing by their subsidiary Pescamar in\nMozambique. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ship, a\nmodern freezer tanker with a capacity for 22 crew members, is part of the\nconstruction project of seven new ships with which the company is renewing its\nfishing fleet in Namibia and Mozambique. Its name,\n&#8220;Ponta Matirre&#8221;, was chosen by the captains of Group\u2019s subsidiary\nthemselves, and is a geographical location at the heart of the Sofala bank, the\nwild prawn fishing ground where the Nueva Pescanova Group operates in\nMozambique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the four freezers for Mozambique, the company will\nbuild three 50-meter-long wetfish trawlers that will be engaged in hake fishing\nin Namibia. The first of these, the \u201cLalandii 1\u201d, has already been in operation\nwith the affiliate NovaNam since last November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of them\nwill be equipped with cutting-edge technology as well as highly efficient\nengines, equipment that will improve the on-board processing system, and the\nworking and living conditions for the crew. With this\nmilestone, the company strengthens its commitment, not only for the creation of\nlocal employment and economic and social development in all the countries in\nwhich it operates, but also for the sustainability and conservation of the\nenvironment through cutting-edge vessels that reduce emissions and incorporate\nstate-of-the-art energy-efficient technologies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To design it, a pioneering tool in the sector was used &#8211; virtual\nreality. The previous visualization of the vessel has allowed for constant\nimprovement in each step of the construction process, thus favoring efficiency\nin the design and improvement of the vessel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The construction of the seven vessels is being carried out at the\nfacilities of the Astilleros Arm\u00f3n shipyards in Vigo, and has an investment of\n42.5 million euros, creating around 200 jobs in Galicia.
