Based on real\ncharacters and stories, the common thread is <em>Nelago Kwedhi<\/em>, the first\nwoman in Namibia to earn a degree as captain. At present, more than 2,000\npeople work for Nueva Pescanova in Namibia, which has boosted the growth of\nthis town by building homes, nurseries for the children of its employees and\nplaygrounds. In addition, it opened the first fish shop to encourage fish\nconsumption among its population and is committed to training its employees,\ngiving them opportunities for professional growth in an area that had no\nfuture. This has made L\u00fcderitz a place of opportunity, which now offers work, education and\npossibilities to those who choose to grow there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Tesa D\u00edaz-Faes<\/em>, Communications\nManager of the Nueva Pescanova Group has said: \u201cwe are honored to receive such\na prestigious international award. The idea behind \u201cThe City Born from the Sea\u201d\nwas to show our commitment to the communities in which we are present in an\noriginal and didactic way. With this documentary we wanted to put on record the\nprogress of L\u00fcderitz, a coastal town that was reborn thanks to the arrival of\nthe Group and is now land of opportunities\u201d. And she added: \u201cApart from showing\nour work there, it is an awareness-raising initiative about the important role\nthat companies play in the search and development of responsible and\nsustainable productive models. These awards recognize PR\nand Communication professionals that have made a difference in the global\nmarket. The judges are a panel of professionals of this sector that analyze the\nproposals received based on creativity clarity, effectiveness and innovation\ncriteria.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Nueva Pescanova Group is the first seafood company in the world in\nterms of its contributions to the UN\u2019s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),\naccording to the <em>Seafood Stewardship Index<\/em> (SSI).
