Vigo, 30 March 2026.- The Nueva Pescanova Group reported a positive net profit of €1.1 million for the 2025 financial year, returning to profitability after several consecutive financial years showing losses, and compared to losses of €37.9 million in the previous one, which covered a nine-month period. In the twelve-month comparison for 2024, losses totalled €91 million[1].
The company’s key financial indicators are on the rise, confirming that the recovery plan’s targets have not only been met but exceeded. Sales reached €1,053.6 million, as compared to €982 million reported in the equivalent twelve-month period of 2024, reflecting an increase of 7.3%. Compared with the turnover reported in the nine-month accounting period of 2024, the increase was 36.9%.
As for EBITDA, it rose by 56.5% to €71.2 million, as compared to €45.5 million in the equivalent period last year. This increase amounted to 77.6% when compared to the EBITDA generated in the nine-month period of 2024.
This improved performance is primarily due to sales growth and efficiency measures implemented over the last two years to contain expenditure and maximize profitability. The most notable of these include the renewal of the commercial strategy, focusing on higher-value operations, increased productivity in aquaculture, process optimisation and organisational transformation. All of this, achieved thanks to the commitment and hard work of everyone in the organisation, has been key to improving operational efficiency and, consequently, significantly increasing margins.
With these results, which exceed the targets set and successfully mark the end of the recovery phase, the company begins a new period of development and investment in 2026, which will be underpinned by the optimisation of its financial structure, on which work is currently underway.
The audited financial statements for 2025 will be submitted for approval at the next General Meeting of Shareholders, the date of which is yet to be determined.
Brand leadership and achievements in sustainability and R&D&I
In 2025, Pescanova re-established itself as the sector’s leading brand. It ranked within the top 10 of Kantar’s Brand Footprint Spain 2025 and maintained its position in consumers’ regular shopping lists, despite a more fragmented and highly price-sensitive market.
The company has strengthened its commitment to best practices in the field of sustainability, in line with the UN 2030 Agenda. As such, the Group was ranked the first fishing company worldwide in the Ocean Benchmark of the non-profit organisation World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA), which recognises contributions to the sustainable management of oceans and coastal ecosystems. In addition, the company consolidated its sustainability strategy, prioritising the most relevant aspects through a double materiality analysis.
Furthermore, through R&D&I, the Group has developed new nutritious, healthy and sustainable products across various ranges (fresh fish, cephalopods, shellfish, surimi and ready meals), and has participated in various innovation projects, such as Valorish, Agri-Resval, Smart4SeaFood, Innoaqua and PremIA.
