Vigo, June 11, 2026.- The Nueva Pescanova Group strengthens its international fishing operations and its investment in Namibia with the addition of the freezer vessel Olupale to the fleet of NovaNam, the Group’s subsidiary in the African country.

The Olupale is 59.82 metres in length, has a beam of 12.65 metres, a cargo capacity of 900 cubic metres, and can accommodate a crew of up to 66 people.

The freezer vessel will be primarily dedicated to the fishing and on-board processing of hake, one of the main species targeted by Novanam in Namibian waters. It has the capacity to catch and process on board up to 2,500 tonnes of finished product annually and will become the most modern vessel operating in this fishing ground.

The vessel, acquired from the company Mar de Arbo S.L., was built in 2024 and has not carried out any activity to date. Consequently, before commencing operations, it will undergo a process of adaptation, equipping and outfitting, and sea trials will be carried out to guarantee its performance and safety. The vessel is expected to enter service in Namibian fishing grounds during the final quarter of the year.

The Olupale replaces the Mar del Cabo vessel, which was damaged by a fire last year, and represents a significant step forward in strengthening Nueva Pescanova’s commitment to Namibia and the development of its operations in African fishing grounds, which are strategic to the Group’s business. Since 1990, Nueva Pescanova has maintained a strong presence in Namibia through NovaNam, continuing to contribute to the economic and social development of local communities.
