Vigo, 5 May 2026.- Nueva Pescanova will strengthen its financial structure through a capital increase of up to €283 million, of which €279 million will be subscribed by ABANCA, the Group’s principal shareholder. The capital increase includes an option for minority shareholders to participate through a cash contribution.
The good performance of the company, which closed 2025 with a net profit of €1.1 million, an EBITDA of €71.2 million (an increase of 56.5% on the previous year) and turnover of €1,053.6 million (7.3% increase), a trend that has continued into the first few months of 2026, has prompted this transaction, which aims to consolidate the company’s financial strength in order to undertake new growth projects.
The capital increase proposal was approved by the Board of Directors of Nueva Pescanova at its meeting on 30 April; it will be submitted for approval at the General Meeting of Shareholders on 20 May and has already been approved by the principal shareholder.
With this move, the Nueva Pescanova Group will reduce its financial costs and bring its financial leverage ratio below 4x, thereby facilitating its access to the financial markets. The transaction lays the foundations for a new phase of development and investment.
Following this process, and if minority shareholders subscribe to the capital increase, ABANCA will continue to hold 98.59% of the company’s share capital.
